What’s the BEST Ab Workout equipment you can buy from Amazon.com?

June 7th, 2010 | by admin |

Im looking for something no higher that 250$ and something that works good. im not over weight, I just want a good workout and toned abs! Thanks
Im also saying ‘equipment’ because i rather not lay on a mat and just do crunches. they seem not to work for me. :)

$250 on abs equipment alone!!!!!!!! you must have money to burn :D

all you need is a good exercise mat for the floor, so as to protect your spine from all the floor exercises you should be doing, with your own body weight!

abs ripper x, from the P90X system is pretty hardcore, and all floor exercises.

in and outs X 25
bicycles X 25 per leg
crunchy frog X25
cross leg/wide leg sit ups X25
fifer scissors X25
hip rock and raise X25
pulse ups X25
v up/roll ups X25**
oblique crunches X25
leg climbs X25
mason twists X50

**this is hard, if you struggle with it move it closer to the beginning of the workout!

Also the 100’s position is a great core toner, sit on the floor and lean back slightly raising your legs about 5-12 inches off the floor. Extend each arm out in front of you to balance. Pulse your arms up and down gently (a pulse should be around two seconds), count each pulse, do 100! you should feel the burn at around 50 onward, when you get to 100 rest!

Alternating planks twists, get in to the plank position and hold for 15 seconds, for 15 seconds each, first lift your left arm, then your right, then your left leg, then the right leg… then both the left arm and right leg, then the right arm and left leg. Do as many circuits of this as you can, all the time clenching your abs muscles to help build a strong core!

and those are FREE!

If you have money left over buy a decent Olympic style weights bench and barbell!

Don’t waste your money on any gadget from amazon.com!

to have a six pack/flat stomach you must burn fat and have a low body fat %. direct ab exercises like sit-ups & crunches(or any of those TV infomercial gadgets) DO NOT burn fat! they may strengthen the area but they will not give you a six pack.

the best way to burn fat is through circuit training and/or interval training. this type of training causes an effect known as EPOC…Excess Post(exercise) Oxygen Consumption. the EPOC phenomenon causes an increased rate of oxygen intake, an elevated consumption of fat for fuel and increases your metabolism up to 48 hours AFTER you exercise! burning fat while you rest!

Not only does this type of training torch bodyfat, it also saves you time. no more splitting up your days…1 day cardio, 1 day weights…more time for family, friends, work, sports. you also don’t need an fancy or expensive equipment to complete these workouts. most of them you can do at home. example:

    squats
    push-ups
    pull-ups
    planks

do each exercise for a set # of reps or time back to back without rest in-between. that equals 1 set. rest 30-60 sec then repeat whole sequence. do 3-5 complete sets. you can plug in more exercises(I do one where I pick 10 exercises and do 1 min of each) or mix in different exercises. train this way 3x/week and you will definitely see some results.

    good luck!
