December 30th, 2009 | by admin |i am a 17 yar old male who is lookin gto gain about 20-25 pounds by august. i dont have any weights or equipment. i want to know a workout plan such as pushups (how many) etc. my legs are skinny . My body has the potential shape of being buff but i just cant gain the weight or muscle.

Well I’d eat more (at 17 you can eat a lot) and do general exercises like you describe push ups, sit ups, and squat thrusts. I think I’d work on my grammar and spelling too.

Do side jobs like newspaper boy, mowing lawns, etc. You’ll build muscle and get paid.

you can’t do it with out weights. isometric and aerobic excercise will just tone your muscles, but won’t add much mass. when i was 18 i gained 20 lbs in 3 months by just going to the gym for an hour a day and eating a lot of meat. its better though is to just eat tuna fish and brocolli, but i got sick of those.

You need to first make sure you are eating correctly. Without this, your body will be unhealthy and you will not put on appropriate weight. Take protein supplimental shakes and make sure you are getting all of the veggies, nuts and lean meats as you should.
See a nutritionist or a doctor for appropriate guidance.

Hmm….. this is a tough one. Here is a basic workout that has seemed to work for a friend of mine
-Wake up and do stretches. You can google various stretches to do. Such as "pike stretch".
-Go out for a morning walk. I’d recomened about 1 1/2 miles.
-Sometime in the afternoon go to a local gym and workout!!
- Take a good walk in the evening
-Get up the next day and do it all over again!!!
I’d also recommend buying some weights.

If you workout without equipment you aren’t going to gain any muscle mass. 20 pounds of muscle mass is hard to gain in 3-4 months even with heavy equipment. Remember that you need to add additional weight to your workouts if you want to gain additional muscle mass, so wear a backpack full of bricks when you do pull ups and pushups etc.
