What is the best piece of home gym equipment for weight loss/fitness?

March 30th, 2010 | by admin |

would i be better off getting a treadmill, or an eliptical or something else?

1st, it depends which machine you will like to use the most.

That said, a rowing machine provides the most capability to burn calories and get in shape at the same time. No other machine can help you burn 1000 calories an hour working the legs, glutes, abs, back, and arms as strongly.

check out www.concept2.com , and the user forums.

If you are having fun on a machine, its not very likely to be burning many calories. Check out your heart rate on a few at a sporting good store.

Rowing, I can push my heart rate to 170 and above, and I’m 55 years old.

elliptical, its what i used to lose about 15 lbs (and this was a big feat considering im small already)
it excercises your butt and arms at teh same time and its not that strenous (unless you put up the resistance)
it will also make your belly slimmer

I reccomend a treadmill if you enjoy running, but if your not a running person then I reccomend a stair stepper.

jump rope. 100 times cheaper and it works just as well as long as you put some effort into it.
    try these: http://www.rossboxing.com/thegym/thegym26.htm
