i’m paranoid i cut my chin on some chin and touched it after obviously i had dirty hands and i’m scared i might get HIV, hep c or some other disease cause the gym is a dirty place help me??

Diseases need a transfer medium and enough pieces of themselves, if that’s the right term, to make a home in your body without being overwhelmed by the body’s defenses. You can get HIV by making out with a person with bloody gums, if you have bloody gums, because that’s blood to blood transfer. A virus lives for a very short time on weight equipment. Hepatitis, too, needs a little help, more than a cut on a dirty piece of metal.

What you may contract, is a simple staph infection. If you cleaned the wound right after you got it, chances are slim you will get anything. Just keep it clean, rub triple antibiotic ointment on it, put on a band aid, and consider getting some weights at home.

Dirt is all over… HIV has to be transferred by blood or spinal fluids ect… you have to have a substantial exposer to it to catch it… Hep C is blood born as well.. You can get exposed but that to takes a substantial exposer to contract.. If your hands are that dirty then you have a serious problem.. You should be more worried about bacteria or viruses use antibiotic ointment and don’t be a hypochondriac… if you feel that you were exposed then see a doctor and they will do blood screening every 3 months to ensure you haven’t contracted anything… But the odds are very low unless you stuck your hand in BLOOD..
