How do I gain weight via muscle mass without equipment?
March 18th, 2010 | by admin |At this time I have no exercise equipment. I have been exercising for about one year, but not solid, and I used to work out an avereage of 3-4 times a week at 1 hour intervals. Now I am wanting to gain some more weight. I am 6′ 3" and 166 lbs, and I am just 20 years of age. I’ve visited many of the websites out there, but I am looking for those extra boosts, and techniques. This is partly remotivational to get me back in the habit of exercising too. Where do I start, and how do I continue?
You can improve strength, endurance, and muscle tone without equipment……but to gain mass you need to lift weights.
Heavey weight with few reps per set and as heavy a weight as you can lift with good technique.
In other words the best way to reach your goal is to get some weights.

It’s simple math: take in more calories than you burn. It also depends on the kind of weight you want to gain. I have a seriously fast metabolism, but I gained 20 pounds in two months by eating at McDonald’s in-between meals. You can also drink a milkshake before bed every night.
This is what you need to do if you want to gain muscle:
-You need 1-2 grams of protein for every pound you weigh each day (no more than 40 grams at a time).
-You need to consistently work out with heavy weights and low reps to stimulate muscle growth (if you can do it more than 6 times, it’s too light). Sorry, you really can’t get around this; I guess lift furniture, or just bite the bullet and get a gym membership.
-You need to let your body totally recover before working out a particular muscle again (less is more when gaining).
-Take L-Glutamine at night to help keep your body from burning muscle.
-Stay away from the cardio during this time (nothing that will raise your heartrate for extended periods of time).
-Be consistent! Good luck.

calisthenics: do pushups, sit ups, chinups, pullups, after a certain point, you wont gain anymore muscle until you add more resistence. thats when the use of equipment comes in handy.
