Gym Equipment?
February 9th, 2010 | by admin |I have just joined a gym. I have never BEEN to a gym before and I don’t know where to begin – what is the best machine for a full body workout? I want to look fit but I don’t want to lose my feminine curves (i.e. my breasts!). Any tips?
most gyms come with a free personal training session.. the trainers will set you up with a basic weight and cardio training program, show you how to use the equipment safely and properly. ask and see if the gym offers this service.. if they dont, here is basically the program they do for general fitness. you will weight train, dooing only a few different excercises, targeting all the major muscle groups in a quick, efficient workout. this usually takes about 20 minutes to do. it is a style of training called circuit training. after that, you will hop on a treadmill or elliptical machine, and perform cardio for 20-40 minutes, depending on your weight loss/ fitness goals, and current level of fitness. you can google circuit training to get an idea of what it entails.. if you are still confused, you can feel free to email me and i can give you some more ideas in more detail. hope this helps.

Arsalan N’s answer is mostly right… you want to lift weights in order to tone your muscles, but you won’t build bulk without testosterone.
All people have testosterone, but men have it in much greater supply than women. In order to build muscle – tone or size – you need to stress them. If you are lifting light weight that doesn’t challenge your muscles, you’re doing little if any good at all.
Talk to a personal trainer at your gym. You don’t have to hire them to get advice. Most gyms will also provide free instruction on the proper use of the equipment.
Don’t be intimidated, and don’t look at it all as daunting. Machines are great for a good workout, and will help you to get a good base of strength. Free weights bring other muscles into the exercise by requiring you to stabilize and balance the weights as well as lift them.
Good luck to you!
