    to get the full advantage of seated rows you should pre load properly this involves leaning forward like your reaching for something in front of you pull with your lats and pinch your shoulder blades for a peak contraction.

    one of the the most common mistakes around, take a look at how arnold and jay cutler perform them and you’ll see why its more efficient that way as your increasing the range of motion and puling with your back not your arms.

    Back when I used to do this (not quite as slow), the problem was my grip wasn’t strong enough. Had to stop reps to avoid letting go! :-)
