			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I remember reading some advice a few years ago about exercising with reps sets of either 12&gt;10&gt;8 or 15&gt;12, but that doesn&#8217;t seem like a sufficient number to effectively improve physical strength and muscle build.<br />
So instead I&#8217;ve been completing 50 reps in a breakdown of three, such as 22&gt;16&gt;12 or 20&gt;15&gt;15, with a weight level that allows at least 20 reps to be achieved in the first go.</p>
<p>What in your opinion is a desired number of reps on any given piece of gym equipment?<br />
Do you find it better to push yourself a lot with the weight level, such that a reps set of 15&gt;12 would actually be a lot to achieve?<br />
<br />depends what you are trying to achieve, if you want incresed muscle size AND strength, then push out as much weight as you can do for 5 reps, 3-5 sets.  increase by 5 pounds each time you do that exercise.  This is the best way to induce natural testosterone levels, therefore  the most efficient.  If you do not want bigger muscles, but only to burn fat while while you are actually working out, do higher reps but strength training really does a better job, for instance the larger muscles will burn away your fat even while you are not working out.</p>

Which strength training routines or weight lifting equipment are safe for women to use without bulking up?<br />
<br />Well keep in mind, becoming tone does not happen with just exercise, weight training, etc. It comes with discipline, which included a regular excerise regiment, mainly cardio, and eating well. But to be more specific to your exact question, regardless of size, you can work out using equipment, just remember not to over work your body. Start off small and work your way up. And that&#8217;s true regardless of weight.</p>
