What available piece of portable exercise equipment is there for doing for pulldowns?

I am a traveling musician and would like to be able to work out on the road, but find I am having a hard time performing one core exercise in particular. Is there any good, HIGHLY PORTABLE piece of workout equipment allowing me to perform pulldowns with a progressively increasing weight (starting at about 100 lbs.) along with the rest of the most basic of the weight-lifting exercises? Thanks!

How about resistance bands? You can probably do an exercise equivalent to pull downs with the bands, like putting them on your feet and pulling up!

Talk about extremely light weight and portable…

    I assume you mean lat pull downs? If so, I’m sure you are aware that pull ups are the same exercise, put with (obviously) much more resistance. Unfortunately, any machine that has variable resistance is going to have a pulley system of some type, making it bulky. All you need for a good workout is a overhead bar, which I’m sure you can find just about anywhere with some ingenuity. If you can’t do pull ups due to your current strength, try doing isometric pull ups, or partial pull ups. For the isometrics, you just pull without actually moving your body, which still builds the muscles. As you progress you will eventually have the strength to do more and more, until you can do pull ups. Also, if you are overweight, you can always lose some pounds to make pull ups easier. Use removable plate dumbbells for all of your other exercises.
