    I think you are right. In a book by Dr. McGuff (Body by Science) he proposes that stretch has little effect … also try to check what he says about warmup, there are some videos from him here…
    in my view like for the workout itself the body should be ready for stretch…

    never stretch …
    never stretch before a workout. its bad for you, it takes some sting out of the mussle. only worm up before the workout and stretch after the workout.

    Good stuff ! I still have a tendonitis and I used to hardly warm up and stretch before my workouts…well now I have to stop training training how I usually do. And got set back for 9 weeks…….
