What is the best upper body aerobic exercise to perform, in order to stay fit with a lower body injury?

Above the belt movement only, possibly using light weights. Simple enough to be performed at home, or in a park; no gym equipment.

lower body meaning legs? Hernia?

Push ups, crunches, dive bombers (kind of a rolling push up where you swoop your nose toward the ground. It works your trapezius.) Oblique crunches, pull ups and chin ups… those are all very good.

Try light weights & do curls&flys Without knowing much about your injury I might suggest some boxing gloves & a speed bag. Swimming is another thing that comes to mind Hope Ive helped

There is an elastic available with a handle. It looks like skipping rope. Attach it to the door knob and perform light weight lifting movements.

Alternatively, you can use bungee cords to do the same thing. Bungee cards are available in all stores for tie down stuff. Buy one that is about 2 or 3 feet long. You can step on one end – or attach it to a stationary object – and pull the other end like you lift weights.
