So, there’s a gym at my college…?
July 23rd, 2010 | by admin |Hi there,
Over the past couple of months, I’ve lost two stone (28 lbs) in weight, and I’m able to squeeze into a pair of size sixteen jeans (the kind which are made for curvy women, and which equate to a size 20-something in places like New Look and Tesco) without too much effort.
I started college a couple of days ago, and there’s a gym in the sports centre- it has what you would normally find in a gym, like the rowing-simulator and the butterfly machine, but I couldn’t see that much cardio/aerobic equipment- which we’re entitled to use whenever we want after we’ve done a fifteen-minute induction on Wednesday. I’m going to start using it on Thursday, and was just wondering if anybody could give me some tips to help me get the most out of my workouts- I’m trying to get into size fourteens at the moment- like whether there are any foods I can eat to prepare my body or any drinks/supplements I can take before/after working out.
Thank you!
G, xxx

Please note- I am a vegetarian, so meat, poultry and fish are pretty much out of the question.
I would suggest that you do what is more fun for you. If you like the rowing machine, use it. If you like to run, then run. But if you don’t like to run, then try something else. It is best to enjoy the workout, rather than do one that you can’t stand. Otherwise, you are more likely to stop entirely. As far as foods, I am not sure about vegetarian foods for that. Whey protein shakes are good after a workout, but it is a product of milk. So I guess that depends on whether or not you are able to drink milk. You can buy whey protein powder at a vitamin shop. Another good thing to eat with the shake is a banana.
